FRIENDS FOREVER

The last goodbyes,
These days of final parting,
As the tide turns to carry us,
To a shore unknown,
Away from the familiar,
On an uncertain path,
Where the guiding milestones
Are soon left behind.

A new start,
The future beckons,
Infant steps to the far horizon,
Each one on diverging roads,
A different goal,
Like travellers,
Meeting at the crossroads
For a moment cherished,
Before the long walk ahead.

And yet,
Even as the journey begins,
Camaraderie binds us,
Our guiding light,
Comfort in another's success,
Sorrow in failure,
The will to win the world,
Emerge victors together,
To sit reminiscing,
At the end of the quest,
Friends forever...
