A SYMPHONY

Pitter patter of raindrops on leaves

Drowned by the reverberation of the storm

Orange blue flashes of lightening streak the skies

As the world intermittently ignites

Undulating ranges sprawled wide at my feet

Purple- Blue Mountains laced in a shadowy veil

In the distance the Himalayas stand tall and proud

Covered in a glittering snow capped shroud

The Grand Orchestra resounds and rolls

Thunderous music backed by a play of lights

A brazen bolt of blue echoes a flash of deathly white

The sky and heavens delight at thunder’s might

The storm rages on as the ensemble warms

Booming forth bolts and flashes of songs

When suddenly a soft tinkle supersedes this crescendo

Its melody conquering the senses mellow

Weaving a path on the winding narrow trek

Two horses labor with jingles tied to their neck

A song so sweet, soft and rich

Instantly reverting my attention to it

Jealously arrogant the storm then does bawl

With a blast sends forth another booming bolt

How a sound so soft dare distract, it cries

Its rapt audience from a show so passionate and bright

Smiling an apology I do wryly admit

That the orchestra in the skies is riveting indeed

However, interspaced with that music soft and sensual

The “Symphony” is only now complete in its splendor
