What good is a relationship without sacrifice?  

Can a strong bond be forged without a price?  

The word “relationship” would cease to exist,  

If there were no boundaries and no limits.  

Without obligations and responsibilities at hand,  

Where on earth does a relationship stand?  

To built a tower of trust between two souls,  

No relationship can be unconditional.  

Mundane duties and chores should be carried out willingly,  

For they are sunlight to the germinating seed of sincerity,  

Unwavering loyalty and gratitude showered from above,  

Will cause the relationship tree to blossom with love.  

Like a kite that is attached to an endless string,  

Ties in relationships are for guiding and directing,  

If these were broken we would float on aimlessly,  

Without a sense of peace and security.  

A relationship must be one that gives and takes,  

Forgiving past grievances and mistakes,  

If it existed purely for mutual gratification,  

It is fragile, lasting only but a moment.  

A true relationship will withstand the test of fire,  

It is not built solely on short-lived desires,  

It is purified through the trials of life,  

Strengthened through suffering and strife.  

A relationship is not all happiness and bliss,  

It has its turns and unexpected twists,  

In the end, it takes both love and maturity,  

To build one that lasts for eternity.  

One should not shrink from terms and conditions,  

Or desire only to satisfy one’s fiery passion,  

A love relationship survives the harshest of winters,  

And blossoms in the warmest of summers!
