Undying love

Pages may yellow, petals may brown,
Metal may rust and windows may dust...
Yet wine grows sweeter, people grow wiser,
Some things die down but only some.
The river gushes with rapid flow,
As the sun shines, the water glows,
Though decades have gone and years have passed,
Its pace remains vigorous and fast.
The sun once shone on carriage wheels,
When bulls were used to plough the fields,
The sun today still shines and reigns,
Some things will always remain the same.
Separated by oceans, parted by land,
It’s sad not being able to hold your hand,
Yet love is not measured by miles, near or far,
But by the heart, the connecting star.
The time has come and I must leave,
Yet forgetting you that will never be,
Sealed with a kiss our love remains,
A promise till we meet again.
