Abandoned

She lay there on the road, lifeless

As people walked past, ignoring her

Her clothes torn, nose leaking

She seemed to be one of the debris around

Or so thought the people

Once in a while she opened her eyes

And tears further stained her already muddy face

She wanted to be cared for, picked up and loved

But no one came forth,

She was abandoned

A good-looking man saw her

May be he pitied her and hence took her with him

He helped her wash her face

Took off the dirty clothes and put on new ones

But only after a thorough wash

He then gave her food to eat

And watched her as she satiated her appetite

Now it was time for him to satiate his own

He took the little girl to his bedroom

He beat her and raped her

And then, abandoned her.

Once again she lay there on the road, lifeless

As people walked past, ignoring her

Her new clothes stained with blood,

Blood leaking from her nose

She seemed to be one of the debris around

Or so thought the people
