THE 'PRESENT'!

Far from memory are infant days

Gurgling, giggling and rattling plays

Snuggled up in a warm crib

Adorned fancy laced bibs

Oblivious of the world around

Distinctly recall my childhood glory

Waited eagerly for the bed time story

I ran and fell...played in the sun

No worries...not a care, just sheer fun

World seemed to be a perfect place

Then came perplexing adolescence

Still in the world of naiveté innocence

Always confused and in a daze
Books, tests, first crush…heartbreak!
Yet, freedom earned was so much fun

Adulthood with its solemn reprimand

Dealing responsibility with a steady hand

Sometimes seemed an alien land

Harshest of weather, it taught me to withstand
Time to reflect on life and understand

Often I wonder what's the best

Wish all those times were back

But, each stage has its own test

So, let us live each one to its best

For today is indeed the 'present'

We got to learn from our past

For, nothing would forever last

Let us see the brighter things

And discover all the joys they bring

Then, each day would be a spring.
