THE COSMIC WHOLE

Why must we belong
To one another
Or just one
Aren't we already
A part of each other
Or are we not one
As fragments
Of the womb
Of the Universal Mother
Sent out to play
While she waits
To gather us up
In her arms
When the moment comes


We are one
And together
Attracting
And repelling
One another
The you in me
And the me in you
Always seeking
The part next to us
In the cosmic jigsaw
Foolishly waiting
For the pieces to fall
When all pieces
When reduced to atom
And as an atom all
A microcosm
Of the cosmic whole
