What poetry means to me
Is the opportunity to break free
The chance to go beyond my reach
Unconfined by correct speech
To be able to speak my mind
Without fear of being unkind
To plumb the depths of my own soul
Sometimes fragmented sometimes whole
Reaching out with all my heart
To all those souls who are a part
Of the throbbing Universal Mind
And therein my own self find
