On That Starry Balmy Evening

ON THAT STARRY BALMY EVENING

On that starry balmy evening !!!

As I walked along the beach on that
starry balmy night

Surf playing hide and seek
with my legs

Felt the grains of sand under
the soles of my feet

While the wind did a waltz
on my cheeks

A leaf winked into my brow
as it went passing by

A baby crab did the tango as
she crawled along

Thunder brought in a bouquet
of lightening for me

A tree stump for a table at the end
of the beach

Rocks opposite each other two
stools did make

Rain did replace the champagne
in the glasses

The sea did the serenading for us
that night ....

There were no candles on the
well laid table

But there was two hearts that shone
on so bright

As I sat there savoring the most
beautiful sight

She came in through the foam of the
cascading waves

A body so beautiful, so tenderly
shaped

she glittered in the silver of the
evening light

a look of such tenderness
in her eyes she had

Rare is such a beautiful sight
to be seen.....

Peanuts for sale! .. Peanuts for sale !
I woke up from the best of my dreams !

She did disappear like Cinderella had done !
was she here ? oh ! where had she gone ?
