FORGIVE

Forgive me if I've been rude to you
for I have forgotten what sweetness meant
it's been a while since I've been treated well
and it's taking me a while to mend !

Forgive me if I've ever stepped on your toes
for I've not danced for a while
I've forgotten how to take those right steps
and it's taking me so long to understand !

Forgive me if I've ever hurt you
for I've forgotten how to be nice
I've been hurting for such a long time
and hurting others I thought was not a crime !

Forgive me if I've not noticed you
for my eyes does not focus anymore
it's been ages since someone ever noticed me
and I guess , I've not bothered to do that too !

Forgive me if I've been callous
for not being kind to anyone
I've forgotten how to be good natured
for I was busy feeling sorry for my self !

Forgive me for the things I 've done wrong
for I have not been in a happy frame of mind
and I've only been thinking of myself
I did not have any time for the others !

Forgive me I said to myself today
for being so self centered and weak
I saw that I need a break and instead
be forgiving, to forget, and be nice !
