DON'T HAVE THE ANSWER YET

As one grows old

One gets more bold

And as a boy growing up

I have seen folks around me

Behave very funny

And I always try

To find out why

In my own way

Of course

You were rebuked

And told "Hog ask eh mumma

How eh mouth so long."

They try to shut you down

To quiet you

To know your place

Some drift away

From their peers

From their family

From their very own

And clasp to strangers

Forgetting "Blood is

Thicker than water’

When we were young

We looked up to our elders

But when they behave

Weird without

Rhyme or reason

We’re at a loss

I think we are here

For a reason

We can’t be good

At or in everything

So we came here

For a purpose

What is yours

Do you gossip

Just for the fun

To create mischief

Are you a shit disturber

And laugh at other’s

Luck and misfortune

Do you try to do good

Everytime you can

Do you go out of your way

To help someone in need

Or you turn your face

Do you always say

It ain’t my business

We ants don’t beg

And we don’t borrow

Do you live a selfish life

Just for you and yours

And leave the rest

For the other man

And do you sleep

With your conscience

What do you teach

Your kids

When you behave

So selfish

Aren’t you telling them

My way or the Hiway

What is your purpose

Can you truly say

I think I am here

And I am making

A mark

Would anyone

Miss you when you’re gone

For this is the only

Yardstick to use

To judge if

You have made

A difference

I am getting on

The steep slope

I have seen a lot

I have heard a lot

I don't have the answer..yet

Working on it

But still learning

From all the Gurus

Around the world.
