A RAY OF HOPE

No need to reach for the poison
No need to reach for the rope
Though your world's in darkness
There's always a ray of hope

Listen to voices around you
Not only to your painful heart
You aren't alone in your sorrow
To heal, this is where you start

Though now you're despondent
And from misery find no escape
Give thanks that you are still living
Not a zombie after a rape

Even if the worst has happened
Give thanks that you're not a child
With no parents that she could turn to
Like a calf abandoned in the wild

Though you seek elsewhere for succour
Spare a moment to look within
You'll find a seed of hope there
And that's where you begin

If you can see you're better off
And help all those who need relief
You have no time for your own pain
You have no time for your own grief
