WHAT POETRY MEANS TO ME

A vent for my overflowing emotions
better than symphony of percussions
without any regret and regressions
putting aside life's complication and compulsions

Some judgmental, others sentimental
at times scary, often superficial
pure imagination, nothing official
some boorish, others confessional

A way to express the despair of love
a way to greet the flight of morning dove
a way to let others know what I feel
a way to give myself a chance to steal

Rhyming of words is pure magic
at times bubbly, sometimes tragic
I let the words rule me
its the world, the way I see.

in love with life, married to poetry
praise THEE for sheer pleasure
the widow shall grow in stature
after I am at peace in a cemetery.
