Didn’t want to lose

That which I have

To that which I may

Never have…..

It strived to crawl in

Pounded at the doors

Tried creeping through

The windows and cracks

I small step in it took

And I realized then

That didn’t want to lose

That which I have…

So bolted the doors tight

And filled all the cracks

To let those clouds of pain

Hover out there, not inside

And let love blaze bright

Strong and constant ever

For I didn’t want to lose

Have for haven’t.. ..
