Karma,
A Maine Tourist
(3rd
in Saga of Karma)

The
ride on the plane was really a snap,
Tucked
safely beneath the seat
But
for an occasional air pocket or two,
I
think flying is pretty darn neat.
So,
this is Maine! I’m finally here!
From
one extreme to the other;
Leaving
New Mexico’s sun behind
In
exchange for Maine’s crisp weather.
First
stop…a visit with Twilah,
She’s
not so bad…though she worried
That
I’d somehow get lost when
Through
all the rooms I scurried.
Next came
a tour along the coast,
And
wading in the ocean foam,
The
sun was really beating down!
Ahhh…
reminded me of home.
Sightseeing
along the way was fun,
Even
romping on Popham Beach,
My
mistress didn’t want to lose me,
So
I had to stay within reach.
Later
on came the yummiest part,
Dinner
on ‘Old Orchard Beach Pier,’
Succulent
Maine lobsters… mmm good!
I
could really get into living here!
Vacation
was topped off with a wedding,
Lots
of music, dancing and such,
Peeked
out from my place of hiding…
The
festivities just a bit too much.
Spending
our last day in Portland, with
DiMilo’s
floating restaurant the ‘finis’,
Now,
eating lunch while on the water
Seemed strangely
unfamiliar to me.
All
too soon we were homeward bound,
Flying
high in the wide blue yonder,
Twilah
says she’s going to miss me…that
We’ll
meet again soon…hmmm, I wonder!
