A Lover’s Plea

 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Tears run and soak the lace

Edged border of my pillowcase

Douching the flame that exudes a glowing light

Euphoria had wound me firm

In its mesh all this long while

As I had danced to a love song’s melody bright

When faced with my love today

You reeled, seemed unnerved a while

So that, dread knocked on my door and crept inside

Love is free, love just happens

No matter how you try to reason

How do I explain, that from you I ask nothing besides

Oh change not your world for me

Nor move any mountains high

Just let me breathe the fragrance floating there tonight

Your existence is all that I need

Knowing you walk this earth today

Don’t think of me, my love, but let me revel in love’s plight

A dream for all who live and die

Just once to feel love’s tender sigh

Sigh not for me I say, just let me care as I deem it right…
