A Poem Is Born
I, me, myself...
I gaze
at the unknown sea
of my soul...
Calm! serene! passive! dead!
Retreat into my cave
There are just no words to say....
I
venture again
but the mystery of the dark
sweeps like a curtain over the watery park
In this ominous silence
A poignant me... alone
Just retreat into my cave
There are still no words to say...
Recoup, recover,
rejuvenate...
I gaze again
at the unknown sea of my soul
Hark! I see a few islands...
Ideas that have developed
Ripe - ready to be explored.
Loosening the
fluttering sail
Plunge into the vast unknown space
Onward I sweep into the wide
Circle of restless seas and skies
My "word boat" flounders
But finally does anchor
And a poem is born...
