The Political Process

Well it happens every four years or so
The selection of presidential nominees that we are supposed to know.

With affirmations, new ideas, recriminations; and trying to be new
Anything at all that is said that appeals to me and you.

They spend money they all claim they don't have
Like we don't know about the lobbyist and friends that provide the salve.

New Hampshire with very few blacks so there is no issue of race
Law and order not much of a problem nor education keeping pace.

The media starts the blitz about the importance of this state
Who will win, who will lose and who will be put on the slate.

The candidates start the political trail of gathering votes
Who finished first and who finished last and can they borrow another note.

3% of this and 10% of that but not the total who did and did not, you see
Why this state is an important national indicator is far beyond me.

I guess the process will never change but be put into the pot
Balanced budget, term limits, health care are always mentioned; and seldom sought.

It doesn't matter who wins for the country will not be sacrificed in four years
Just keep your mind on the oval office and find out who really cares.

Give each viable candidate one hour of air time in each state
Let the voters decide if they want to listen and decide to vote for their candidate.
