Every morn when I wake
I think, this day I shall be wiser
This dawn will surely herald sense
Into my juvenile insanity
But I lie long on my pillow
Smilingly thinking of you,
Adding to my growing love
Not subtracting as I promised
Each day brings a new tenderness
Weaving itself into my heart
So that the strands of your love
Entwine tighter, web wider
I know this is going to hurt
And rescue I must myself in time
For it is a love unending
Without a finishing line
But helpless I stand against its bind
Unmoving in its interlacing net
Alternating rejoicing and gasping
In the mesh of your love, your thoughts and you…
