Fathers

Many Father's were the mirror of God to their kin
The judge and jury when we appeared to do sin.
More often than not our Mother's would temper
To remind the Father of their own youth to remember.
Father's appeared to be distant and lack joy
Many were just like me as very young boys.
Father's imitate their Fathers who were strong and great
But please; for no reason, hug your Father before its too late.
Father's do have an important role to keep you from harm
Because they love you; they must sound the alarm.
They had their youth but at a different time
But they love you so much they can put up with your whine.
Father's love is circular and you can never reject
The most important duty they have is for the children to protect.
Our world has not changed in doing things according to an age
They want to insure you have your chance to add your very own page.
Father's have feelings for you as wide as the ocean
With a love that is defined within the word of devotion.
Father's appear to be more emotional today than mine
I would have to schedule my hugs and ask; "is it time"?
Don't let your Father hide behind the term of household head
Insist he hug and kiss you before going to bed.
It will be soon enough when you have someone else to do
But even then he will always love; only you.
Father's are men and also young boys
Ask them about the secret place they had for special things and toys.
You will always carry what your Father gave
A childhood, a nest, and gentle memories to share or save.
So my Father for the times when I thought you were bad
You were and are the most wonderful and "I love you dad."
As the intimate role model of my life
May I share the good things with my children and my wife.
