WRAP ME IN AN ILLUSION

A symbolic fantasy,

Delude me with your starry intoxication!

Let my reality slowly slip into oblivion…

Till I feel like I can float;

With my senses numbed,

Feeling emotions but not sure.

Disillusioned…

Shunning away practicality,

And living my fancy.

In my dream,

Calming my soul.

And I drift further away-

Away from the grasps of despair and despondency:

Sinking into this calm arena,

No responsibility or tension.

Slipping into that deep hollow;

And you just fall…

Deeper and deeper…

Conditioning yourself to believe again?

To hope again?

For a better tomorrow…?

Acquiring a new position,

A place to laze.

To think again;

For something admirable;

Caressing your soul

In the midst of confusion.

Drawing nearer,

To make something wonderful,

Of yourself.

Immortality?

Would that be credulous?

Is it assured?

Such a void of bliss!

Staring at open spaces!

Viewing them as paradise?

Lush green meadows,

And tapering hills.

All the natural beauty;

That had been overlooked-

That had been a myth-

And in your imagination,

Its real.

Dipping into a placid pool,

Clear with no blemishes.

Burying your sorrows.

And just being.

Relaxing like never before.

And you set sail,

With all you believe in to be true;

With rainbows and clouds.

Smiling down on you…

Sunshine in plenty.

And on a clear night:

You wish upon a solitary star,

Hoping this to be reality

Hope to see only what you believe

Hoping…
