In the darkness of ignorance
Where intellect is a trespasser
Lurks a devil most ignominious
He attempts to curb all desire to learn
All thoughts of progress are shunned
The devil pledges light never wins
And darkness remain the norm
But the will for contemplation
For virtuous mental deliberation
Is impossible to curtail or eliminate
The devil ultimately must give in
To the resolve of the seeker
Who has aimed to illuminate
The darkness of the mind
Which once achieved is eternal
And the glow of wisdom is timeless
The devil in misery and necessary woe
Succumbs to the power of enlightenment
