Fragrant Fragments

 Pausing to catch breath

Off the unvarying treadmill,

I reach for that leather bond book

And casually flip the pages…

Fragments escape, wafting fragrance

As they dance their way

Before my very eyes, and I relive,

Moments now gone by…

Softness strokes my mouth,

As moisture stealthily fuels

And the perfume seeps unwittingly,

Into those tired windows of my soul…
