Dilemma

Beneath the weight of my promise

I buried all my dreams

Buried that overpowering pain

And that overwhelming aloneness

Deep into the recesses of my mind

I tenderly laid them with care

And without regret patted over

The dry earth of our friendship

But the might of my unfulfilled dreams

The compulsion of being alive

Turned the tide and cracked that earth

Raining blood tears, bringing them to life

My dreams are dear, but you dearer

Torn between the two I stand gasping

Neither can I be without you my crimson soul

Nor slay that very need that makes me live...
