Bottomless Depths

 Invited to accept the bottomless

depths of my love,

where the end is unfathomable,

was perhaps for you

like being asked to take a leap

into the dark pits of a well.

Perhaps I should have learned,

that most scare easy,

and cupped my palms to hold

but a tiny fraction

of that which I have within me,

so you could measure and accept.

Will I ever find then in this life,

someone bold and brave,

who sees the depths for what they are:

limitless, unending gain,

and take that leap with arms a-spread,

so his thirst and mine can finally be slaked?
