Real close

I saw today

And the mystery

Was solved

After wondering

And pondering

And puzzling

For so long

Finally today

I saw them up close

They are blue

With a depth

That invites

And beckons me

And I simply sink

Deep into

Their soothing

Warmth

They are

Translucent

They are like

The cool touch

Of marble

Under my feet

On a scorching

Summer day

They are like

A canopy

That shades

Me from

The scalding sun

They seem

To melt me

Into a tender pulp

I saw

Up close

Real close

Today I saw

They are blue…
