SHATTERED
He enters the room She hears him call She’s trying to hide Wants to melt into the wall
He summons her She brings in the tea “You stupid woman! Didn’t you hear me?!”
She stands with her head bowed He raves and rants Calling her names so hard Instead of breathing he pants
From what she did do To what she didn’t, nothing is right, The look on his face fills her with fright
Little by little, she’s eroding inside What this is doing to her Is in plain sight But his are the eyes, that refuse to see “When I talk to you” he thunders “look at me!!!”
On and on it goes, day after day There is no respite from it, no holiday This is an abuse that doesn’t leave scars Nor does it let you be, the way you are
Emotional Abuse is the worst of its kind It kills your spirit It numbs your mind
It shouldn’t be allowed to And if it’s allowed to There’s only one person to blame And that person is You. ~Mayuri Sharma~ (I watched a program on ‘Emotional Abuse’ which angered me, disturbed me….and got this poem out of me. ) © All Rights Reserved Do not copy
