THE FOLLY OF MAN

As about my daily tasks I go
driving from place, to place
I see the beauty of nature
then I think of the folly of the human race.
Animals, and birds together live in harmony
Killing is only done for food
out of sheer necessity.

But man in his wisdom, is nothing but a fool
for he damages, or destroys all that he touches
using up the earths resources
as if there is a never ending pool.
Perhaps when nothing is left on the planet
except for dust, and acid rain
with his last dying gasp, he will reflect
why, oh why, have we caused
all this misery, and pain.
