QUESTION MARK

Saw it standing there

Motionless since years,

That large looming figure,

A Question Mark

Eternal and fierce;

When first it I glimpsed,

Had with confusion me filled

Didn’t recognize it at once

For what it inferred,

But it sure made me think!

So slowly I approached

The huge half round on a stick,

Tried touching it gently,

Looked it up and down

From all possible angles;

Clambered up its top,

Slide down its rounded side,

Hung on the edge of its end,

Swung back with intent,

To unravel the mystery of it.

But despite looking so long

From one angle and most all,

Can’t find the answer true,

Why this Question Mark

Rules my life as none else can do…
