PICTURE FRAME

Tears glisten even now

As I long to reach out

And caress that hazy image

That I in my fluster

Captured, that sunny day

You had so overwhelmed me

That afraid was I even then

Of holding you frozen forever

Close in the frame of my heart

So anxious in case you may deny

The pleasure pure and sublime

Of taking your image home

And without your consent

Make you silently mine

So even as you strode towards me

With your head bent, a smile

Playing on your mouth

I sneaked with trembling hands

An image that now within me resides
