BACK TO SCHOOL To triumph, I now ought to trudge that path That would me with contentment flood, For, to overcome and survive the aftermath I need to discover how to stem the blood; When slowly all those layers unfold and roll A pupil new and embracing will I become, Discard those emotions swathing my soul Stifling it, and making it to pain succumb; So I rise again and listen to my heart’s call To become like a child, pure, gay and free, Abandon all that anguish that makes me fall Be ready to imbibe and someday see victory.
If the lesson of loving myself I would never learn Would I ever qualify for being another’s loved one. ~Glowing Embers~
