An Unwritten Love Song
I wanted to write a love song I wanted to light a flame And see it spread its glowing flicker And to Love make its claim
In the far corner of the room I wished to see, the festive band Serenading her into ecstasy As he tenderly held her trembling hand
I almost saw his look as he poured His heart out along with the soul Her fingers entwined in his As if she had finally reached her goal
In her wavering shy eyes I perhaps Saw her silently battle with need Waging a losing war within Knowing just where it would lead
But the words and the mood Remain trapped in me today And as sensuality lies prisoner Aloneness ruled my night and day
