A LULLABY

When the eyes are wearied

And the mind dulled,

The body soaked in fatigue,

Numbness rules supreme;

And to curl up and sleep

Till eternity

Is the only reprieve

Through the panes, let Golden Adonis

Wander into your bed then;

Slant his intentions as you recline,

Heralding sweet slumber

Into your chambers,

So that surrender to him you do

And into his embrace lie

Languor and modesty do then dictate

That draped in a veil you be,

And so, with the fluff

Of the downy soft quilt

Warming and toasting you from within,

Let the shutters fall

On your eyes

Tenderness hovers on those parted lips

As you huddle,

Basking in the fervency

And heat of his thoughts,

While exhaustion is replaced

With soft smiles

As you yield to your deeply felt sighs

A trilogy of sorts is enacted

As they all blend to caress:

Those golden fingers paint your face

While the cloak wraps, enflaming

Those wanton thoughts

Smoothing the creases in your whys

And they in unison sing, a lullaby
