Trash Or Treasure

 

The endearing greetings, the words left-slanting,

the dried roses, their smell still prevailing,

 

the cashmere shawl, that once gave me warmth,

the scented candles, that smelled like sweet vermouth,

 

the diamond ring, the proof of the betrothal,

heap of wondrous gifts, granted on our espousal

 

I savored them as a treasure,

for they always gave me pleasure;

 

transported me to euphoric retentions,

and help me relive the happy moments.

 

Now emotions withdrawn, just the objects

feelings long gone, filling my cupboard.

 

Are they just trash or a treasure?

for the love that I still harbour......
