The Pen That Generates Dreams

THE PEN THAT GENERATES DREAMS

I got a new pen
I have a complaint
Since the time
I got this pen,
I have not been able
to write to you
I guess
I will take them to court
and sue them for damages.
You see,
the problem is
every time I start writing,
the moment
I write your name,
I can see you smiling,
sitting on the chair
facing me, on the table,
your elbows resting on it
and your eyes
intently gazing

The moment
I look down to start writing,
I can feel your arms
come around from behind ,
holding my face
in your soft hands ,
lifting my chin up,
to find myself
looking into your eyes,
reading the message in them
Hey! Do not write,
talk to me
I pinch myself
to check if I am dreaming,
and I do feel pain,
not where I pinched,
but in my heart
as I realize
that you are not with me
and far away
I guess
I will take them to court
and seek damages
for causing heartache as well
My lawyer tells me,
that they had given the pen
for writing
and since
I am using it to generate dreams,
I will have to pay
royalty to them
I guess
I will simply throw the pen away
