THE GARDEN PATH

Sonnet

Across the garden path Aurora sheds
Her early rays, while gently Zephyr plays
Among the leaves, and thus his music spreads
Along the way in sweet Aeolian lays.

'Tis here Vertumnus and Pomona fair
Are cultivating fruits of rare delight,
While fragrant Flora scents the morning air,
And Dryads dance in remnants of moonlight.

Behold! Another goddess does appear,
For Love created Beauty, Light and Day,
Personified in Venus, walking here
To laugh at lovers who have come this way.

May you and I together fuel her mirth
As we enjoy this Paradise on earth.
