Ghazal

I write these poems as the aftermath
Of what you've shown me of the garden path.

You speak of Zen, and I believe I see
The light as I gaze on the garden path.

I've heard that inspiration comes to some
Who wander often in the garden.  Path-

Ologic conditions also are eased
In many who go there.  The garden path

Invites the Muse, gives peace, but also, there
Are men who lead girls down the garden path.

"Il faut cultiver notre jardin."  So
That is why you work on the garden path.

Gentil jardinier, please consent to walk
With Marilyn along the garden path.
