REWIND

 I'd give anything
to be a child once more

to curl up on my mother's lap
and drift into painless slumber
as she sings me a lullaby

to run into my father's arms
and get tossed up in the air
then caught and held close by him again

to skip the pangs of growing up
into an age where innocence is a crime
in a loveless world of shallow kitsch

 I'd give anything
to be a child once more

So tell me what it will take
