IF NIGHT MUST FALL
If night must fall
Then let it be cool
and short
With moonbeams to give
light
Stars that shine from
way up high
And let there be sweet
balmy breezes
With crickets singing
their tune
If night must fall
Then let this dreamer
dream hope
This seeker find love
This poet be lost
in musical rhyme
This human find solace
In sleep's endearing
embrace.
