I know not who you are,
In the vastness of the sky,
In its clearness or its warmth,
And I care not to reason why.

If today you hold my hand,
And walk a little way,
To give that little cheer I seek,
And tomorrow take away.

To give the same to another,
And another, till the list grows endless long,
If I have felt its beauty and wonder,
Then it is creations song.

Where the sky bent to receive one special star,
I care not if I did discover,
Or where the mind chased and confined,
Some distant, elusive lover.

Or the sound of ankle bells,
That kindles the warmth higher,
And it was not I but another,
Will its embers douse my fire?

I have at the silent sky so gazed,
And searched in minds of sin,
Sought in vacant hearts to find,
My star crossed Gemini twin.
