APARNA

A is for apples, round cheeked and rosy,
filled with sweetness and health.
And for the smiles you bring to me,
when I feel your love and my heart you melt.

P is for purity, white robed and slender,
a lissome figure your feelings tender.
The entire universe in your eyes,
you are wonderful you are wonder.

A is for amazement, when I look at you,
and see the woman you have grown to be.
The years have flown with us together,
in your budding womanhood I see me.

R is for rapture, when I smell your hair,
stroke your cheek or kiss your nose.
Hold you close to my heart and feel,
a warm delight for my dainty rose.

N is for nostalgia, when I think of you,
and of all the years in-between.
Of babyhood and growing up,
to adulthood from troublesome teens.

A again is adoration, you my love,
my flesh and blood and bones.
My child, my breath, my life, my all,
with you this house is home.
