Nature's fury
A bolt of lightning flashes in front of me, My ears tingle at the sound of the sea, The mighty waters roar with all its might, Its foaming waves rising to a miraculous height.
Against the rocks they dash themselves relentlessly, The invisible arm of the sea displays its wrath most readily, The wind howls like a wolf crying out for blood, Both elements mingle together, pouring forth like a flood.
The insurmountable strength of wind and water, Together they unleash unimaginable terror, The sun is hidden behind a velvet curtain of clouds, As claps of thunder resound, loud and clear.
Many tremble at the fury of nature, Upon mankind it reacts in anger, No mortal can withstand its powerful force, There is no where to turn to for recourse.
The wind with its insatiable appetite, Swallows up everything that lies in sight, Trees are uprooted effortlessly like loose teeth, The wind destroys everything within its reach.
Heaven has tipped its cup of wrath upon the earth, A horrifying disaster has been birthed, And now, we will drink of this bitter wine, And lie in drunken despair at this point of time.
Our spirits are crushed by the destruction we see, For all we can do is watch helplessly, As the work of our hands are swept away, They are reduced to rubble by the end of the day.
And all that is left is dust upon dust, But from it, rise again we must, Strive to begin rebuilding and restoring, Our resilience must prevail, our faith unwavering. *Rajwinraj*
