WALK ON A SPRING DAY

I took a soft walk along the river
Seeking sunlight, warmth
Found shadows shivering
In the swaying waters,
Crying gulls

Each step brought new life
Bursting out, free from winter's grip
Singing loudly, notice me
Roller blades, bicycles by me slip
Motorboats churning.

Mallards seeking safety
Geese taking joy in the new home
Displaying colors
Setting territory comb,
I'm far away.

The sun pressed it's heat
I sat taking  it in
Letting my pen flow,
My heart grinned,
Reading I'd discovering life.
