THE UNFORGIVEN

I have lost my way home
And cannot get anywhere
Wherever I may roam.
The only light guiding me
Is that coming from your eyes
They are all I can see.
In your footsteps I have found
My missing heartbeats, the ones I skipped
When you were around.
I hear your voice, so I know
My heart is beating still.
I'm alive, but barely so.
For I can see, there is in me
The one sole thing
That should not be.
The torment and the struggle within
My lonely heart,
This sad little thing, the unforgiven.
Here I am, waiting for tomorrow
To come and ravish me,
The harvester of sorrow.
You go on. Keep walking on.
I'll listen for your voice,
Till the time you're gone.
What wise thing do you see
In standing here just to wait?
You're wasting your pity.
I will wait here till eternity
Trying to gather
The frayed ends of my sanity.
