The Mother's Wings

To the calf's call in a herd,

How its mother rushes to feed?

To the chicks' mouth wide open,

How a bird feeds one by one?

To the hungry cubs in a den,

How, with food, rushes a lion?

To the kittens newly born,

How a cat feeds them on?

Under their mothers' wings

The new born animal beings,

How the nature leads them stay,

Until they can fly or run away?

A bird or an animal cares not,

Once its kid stands on its feet,

And thinks not next minute,

Its runaway kids where to meet?

Not so in the human kingdom,

"Cause there's a born wisdom,

That allows its bondage seldom,

Broken into a state of freedom.

To them a mother's wing,

Isn't a boon, a shield life long,

As she cares, old or young,

Even if they go wrong?

Is there any known creature

More than a kind mother,

An embodiment of love, ever

Gifted by the Creator?
