A wise man did me once caution,
Dear lady, I see someday, perhaps
You shall feel such a mammoth
Disenchantment, that will you sap
You walk and float amongst the clouds
Though there be only a clear sky,
You see the nonexistent rainbows
Sighing at the beauty therein lies
Wake up! And see before you
The reality as your heart must know,
Live not your days blindfolded,
Smilingly drifting, where the wind blows
He tries teaching me, to attain that
spirit
Of open-eyed knowledge and control,
While swimming and being awash
With those emotions that within me roll
I smile; for do I not already know clear
That those castles that I seem to build
Are no castles at all, but a tenderness
That knowing you has me deeply filled
No dreams are spun, no plans ever laid,
No eternity sought, no love displayed,
No lust desired or passion wild, I
simply
Bask in the beauty your presence has
made.
