JUDGEMENT DAY

Asked was I a simple question

Though simple it was not

Came worded as a small query

Yet encompassing my life’s lot

Fielded it expertly I could have

With kid gloves and cushions

Handled it as if it were not

Any one else’s business for one

Yet found I taking great care

To reply it in full and length

Giving it my deepest attention

As my heart I bared with strength

Without the bat of an eyelid

To all that was asked & unasked

Did I promptly then answer

As if sharing myself was an easy task

But then as I paused to wonder

Why did I speak so easily at all

Did I not worry about what they thought

As I stood exposed to one and all?

A soft smile escaped me then

As myself I answered with peace within

Hey girl! No one can be a harsher judge

Than you have for yourself ever been.
