Hiding Away

I'm hiding away on my own river path
That winds around
Never ceasing
Always seeking.

Seeking new,
A safe place away from life's grief.
Crystal waters that heal,
Tenderly wash wounds.

Wounds needing careful hand
Not to rip off the scrap
Exposed,
Releasing the memories again

Bleeding all around me
I can't stop it
In the quiet,
The drops splatter on the floor.

A floor I've walked over
Counted the drops
Mixed with tears
Wondered when it would end.
