EMPTY VESSEL

Humbled I stand

For despite my façade

Of wisdom

I have none

The one eternal truth

That does me rule

Is maybe, simply

An obsession

On that path

That I so oft have trod

There should be an all encompassing

Fearlessness

Expounded I

That was unafraid

But find panic overtakes me

When with belief am I faced

I weigh the tangible

Against the intangible

Like a merchant; how foolish

How very naïve

Maturity clearly states

This world is a mirage

Then why do I

Cling to the sands of time

The dream rules me;

Yet have no courage to make it true

Does that make me false

Or the dream

Inaction is my stand now:

Did the once gone awry

Action, forever numb me

Of any reaching out

Hollow half woman

The emptiness resounds

And rattles like an empty vessel

More din and sound…
