A Dreary Day

A Dreary Day

The wind was strong and filled with rain
A change in season and temperature once again
The sky has turned gray without a tinge of blue
But faith and belief will bring it back for me and you.

Despite the inclemency the birds know what is their goal
To take their food and what makes them whole
Out of the tree to the feeder and quickly back
With a determination and direction they do not lack.

The motion of grass, bushes and trees
As tho each leaf was caressed by the breeze
The color of this day causes me to feel something is amiss
As tho I need another to hold me and also kiss.

The gray will eventually turn into the darkness of night
Removing the beautiful creations by placing a veil over my sight
But I know the day will come with a burst of color and sun
As with the very first creation you are truly the beloved one.

So it is with thanks that I know you to be eternally fair
All else is naught for survival and continuance because you care
I can sing your praise and glorify your name
But it is because of you and your giving that each of us will always be treated the same.

I know you do not measure whether reference to you is capitalized or not
But only by our actions of intent given to others if sought
I would always recognize you by your giving and also to share
Not by name but by love and with me you were always fair.
